Character Guide

A character guide for Fractured Magic, alphabetical by first name. May contain minor spoilers.

The Magistrates.

The three Magistrates of Unity lead the three branches of Unity. Malong, of the dragons. Moira Ranulf, of the humans. Diomis, of the nympherai. This is a role elected from among the Congregation of Representatives by the representatives.

The Guardians.

Three deities created by Atiuh to watch over the mortal people of Calaidia. Tellaos for the dragons, Atuos for the humans, and Ellaes for the nympherai.

Aaror Thomason.

A member of Evelyne Corscia’s security team.

Aleksir Bardon.

A young man who works for the Oracle of Damael.

Aldous Ranulf.

Gareth and Moira’s younger brother. Owns a number of factories in the northern city of Adondai.

Amos Nochdvor.

King of the Alfheim province. Rheamaren’s father and Leandros’ uncle.

Catalina Rosario-Reyes.

Roman’s mother, who died when he was very young. Has a mysterious past that involved a mysterious affair.

Cathwright.

A diplomat on Unity’s team. A dragon and a barrister.

Devikra Stormsong.

Also called the Oracle of Damael. A figure featuring in many Egil stories: she warns Egil of coming troubles and he does what he can to prevent them. An old friend of Egil and Leandros.

Dinara Condeh.

An up-and-coming actress among the Webhon Players. Has an unlucky habit of falling for men who cause problems.

Drys.

A faerie from Home that Roman rescued from Unity’s prison. They/them.

Eftychia ("Chia") Jones.

An unusual orinian under Unity’s employ. A member of Evelyne’s security team.

Egil.

Legendary hero of countless stories. Said to have really existed, but historical accounts are wildly outnumbered by fiction. Rumored to have been executed after attempting a revolution.

Eresh Ochoa.

A member of the diplomatic team. Leandros’ assistant and the team’s official Unity Coordinator. A dryad originally from Lyryma.

Evelyne Corscia.

The leader of Unity’s security/tactical team. A maranet with a cold exterior and mysterious past.

Gareth Ranulf.

The younger brother of a Unity Magistrate. Gareth is a scholar who visits Gallontea for Unity’s conference season every year. He’s a known scholar on the subject of Egil.

Isobel Ranulf.

Gareth’s wife. The daughter of a preacher, the apprentice to a physician, and the author of several popular penny dreadfuls.

Ivor Linde.

An alfar and member of Evelyne’s security team.

Leandros Nochdvor

The nephew of the kidnapped King Nochdvor. When his uncle goes missing, Leandros leads the efforts to get him back. Has a mysterious history with the hero Egil.

An oanai from Home. Daughter of Mani and Apa, two of Home’s elected leaders.

Kieran Cairn.

A young orinian visiting Gallontea on vacation. Kieran’s twin sister and a student back in Orean. An accomplished athlete.

Mercy White.

Moira Ranulf.

A Unity Magistrate representing the human branch of Unity. Aldous and Gareth’s older sister.

Rheamaren Nochdvor.

Princess of the Alfheim province. Amos’ daughter and Leandros’ cousin.

Roman Hallisey-Rosario

A young man with a mysterious past and a dislike of both Egil and Unity. Arrives in Gallontea with the Webhon Players, a performing group he’s been traveling with.

Theodosia "Thea" Fairfax.

A rosanin with the ability to sense people’s auras and intentions. Joins the team at the last moment at the request of Leandros and Gareth.

Trinity Smith.

A nymph on the diplomatic team. Chief negotiator on the mission.

Whelan Riordan.

King of the city-state of Orean.

Wilhara Quansah.

The Oracle of Damael's handmaiden and close confidant.
